1 cup milk
2 Tbsp butter
½ cup icing sugar
½ tsp active dry yeast
2 ½ cups flour
1 litre vegetable oil
Handful chopped pistachios or walnuts
Cinnamon or other spices
Heat milk and butter in a pan until butter melts.
Put all remaining ingredients in bowl. Make a well in the centre, and pour in lukewarm milk. Mix and let cool to room temperature.
Pour oil in large pot, and heat on high (to 170C/338F). Line a plate with paper towels.
Drop Tbsp-sized doughballs into the oil. Let them colour nicely on all sides (you may need chopsticks to flip them).
Fry and then drain on paper towels.
Cool, then serve warm, drizzled with honey, spices, and chopped nuts.
